Marketing is Under Attack. Impact Strategies for Marketers

20 years in, we’ve learned a great deal about digital marketing, including what works and what does not. Including the difference between speaking to mass audiences (which we were all pretty good at) and having a real time, two-way dialogue with a potential customer (which few of us do well). Kevin will unpack and put marketing in context for marketing in today’s digital-first world.

In the past 20 years, we’ve learned a great deal about digital marketing, including what works and what does not. During that period we did not distinguish that all marketers had a “mass-marketing mindset” – it was just marketing! True “dialogue marketing” only came about as a result of social media and digital marketing.

Defining The Dialogue Age

After 20 years of experimenting and using digital marketing we can see the difference between speaking to mass audiences (which we were all pretty good at) and having a real time, two-way dialogue with a potential or a repeat customer (which few of us do well). Let us not forget, marketing exists to solve real world business outcomes.

Join Kevin Adema, the author of DMAC’s Certified Digital-First Marketer program, as he unpacks a few new ideas that will change how you see digital marketing. He has a powerful way of providing you with “fresh eyes” and a new way of looking at your digital marketing options, while putting marketing in context for today’s digital-first world.

“The frame, the definition, is a type of context. And context, as we said before, determines the meaning of things. There is no such thing as the view from nowhere, or from everywhere for that matter. Our point of view biases our observation, consciously and unconsciously. You cannot understand the view without the point of view.”
― Noam Shpancer, The Good Psychologist

1:00pm – 2:00pm Derek Lackey, CIPM, Managing Partner Newport Thomson
